EDMONTON — Two people were killed Sunday evening after a vehicle collided head-on with a semi-trailer north of Fort McMurray.
The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. on the access road to Fort McKay, about two kilometres north of the Highway 63 junction. An SUV driving north collided with the semi travelling in the opposite direction.

Two people inside the SUV died. Their names have not been released. The two people inside the semi weren’t injured.
Wood Buffalo RCMP and the RCMP Traffic Analyst are investigating the double fatal collision. Speed and weather conditions are believed to be factors.
The road was closed for a short period on Sunday.
Fort McMurray is about 450 kilometres north of Edmonton.
