Saskatoon Hilltops win 18th national championship

SASKATOON – The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) championship was held at SMF Field Saturday afternoon. The Saskatoon Hilltops were looking to add to their dynasty on home turf.

All that stood in their way of another Canadian Bowl trophy were the Okanagan Sun.

The Sun, of the BC Football Conference (BCFC), were hoping for their third national championship this weekend. The team was undefeated this season in the BCFC.

After four quarters of intense football, the Hilltops sealed the deal with a 38-24 victory on Saturday. This is their 18th national title.

In October, Saskatoon defeated the Calgary Colts to win the 2015 Prairie Football Conference (PFC) and a spot in the CJFL final.

Saskatoon last hosted the Canadian Bowl in 2010 when they beat the Vancouver Island Raiders.
