HALIFAX —  Agropur Cooperative is recalling Farmers 1% Partly Skimmed Chocolate Milk because it may contain egg which is not declared on the label.

This recall was triggered by the company and The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says they are conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.

People with an allergy to egg should not consume the recalled product as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction. There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of the product.

The product was distributed in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The brand is Farmers 1% Partly Skimmed Chocolate Milk in the 1L size. It has a best before date of DE 2 and a UPC of 0 67997 02056 5.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency advises people to check to see if you have recalled product in your home. If you do, it should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
