The 25-year-old victim was taken to hospital and is expected to recover.

Police arrested Jason Dale Krysta (25) and charged him with several offences, including aggravated assault, break & enter, using a firearm in the commission of an offence and wearing a disguise.

RCMP urged residents to remain calm, as they said they don’t believe this is a random attack.

Krysta will make his first court appearance in Red Deer Provincial Court later this month.
