WINNIPEG – A school division meeting Monday night will decide if there will be a change in policy for transgender and gender non conforming students.
School board trustee Lisa Naylor put forward a motion during a board meeting in October where she wants to see official policies put in place to protect students in all of Winnipeg’s schools.

Last year in the River East-Transcona School Division, 8 year old Isabella Burgos was told she couldn’t use the girls’ bathroom, even though she identified as a girl.
Naylor said her policy isn’t specifically about Bella’s case, but from speaking with people in her community.
The motion will be debated and voted on at Monday night’s meeting.
