Packing their bags: Parting words from defeated MPs

Chris Alexander was brief and to-the-point, while Peter Stoffer had some sage words as he left Parliament Hill one final time.

Defeated MPs from the Conservative and NDP caucuses  (none of the Liberal incumbents who ran were voted out) spent last week packing up their offices and saying farewell.

Former Conservative minister Alexander, who ran into a Global News crew on Sparks Street, said his next move will be to find a new job.

Stoffer, a veteran NDP MP who had one of the most colourful offices on the Hill, said he is departing with his head held high.

“You can always look your children in the face and say I did my very best. But the reality is, it’s like sports, sometimes you win sometimes you lose, but at the end of the day you got to play the game.”
