Eight-year-old Jeremy Miller’s Spina bifida won’t be slowing him down this Halloween. His dad transformed his wheelchair into a Star Wars snowspeeder.
The epic costume comes with working flaps and guns that shoot glowing Nerf darts, wrote Ryan Scott Miller, of Murrieta California, on his Facebook page.
That’s pretty much all his young Jedi would need to join the Rebel Alliance and battle the Dark Side on the planet of Hoth.
The crafty dad reportedly used a toy and photos of models he found on the Internet to design the costume. Aside from creativity, all it took to make was some foam board, PVC pipe, spray paint, bicycle brakes and duct tape.
“I was a huge Star Wars fan as a kid and I would have loved to have something like this, so it makes me giddy-happy to see my son so happy and excited in it,” he told CNET.

The Millers have received plenty of praise for the costume. It even started to trend on Twitter after it grabbed the attention of celebrities like Alyssa Milano and Christian Slater.
But it’s not the first time the dad has dominated the DIY Halloween costume game. Last year he transformed his son’s wheelchair into Captain America’s motorcycle.
The year before that he turned it into a talking electrical parade float, lit up with 1,000 tiny bulbs.
A Texas mom, whose son has Spina Bifida as well, has a whole blog dedicated to wheelchair costumes. On there, she tells parents exactly what they’ll need and how to put it all together.
Here in Canada, a B.C. father also gets a little creative with his four-year-son’s Halloween costumes.
