HALIFAX – Halifax Regional Police say an 8-year-old girl was assaulted by a man outside a Halifax elementary school on Monday.
Police were called to Duc D’Anville Elementary School on Clayton Park Drive just before 3 p.m.
Police say the young girl was outside in a wooded area as part of a physical education class when a man grabbed her from behind and pushed her to the ground.

When the teacher and other students started to call the girl’s name, the suspect fled.
The girl wasn’t injured in the incident, and immediately told the school staff what happened.
The suspect is described as a 5’10” man with dark brown skin and short brown hair. He was wearing a black winter jacket and black pants at the time of the incident.
