An impressive season for the Saskatoon Hilltops has led to a number of awards for some players and their head coach. On Friday, the Prairie Football Conference announced their most outstanding players for the 2015 season.
Linebacker Cole Benkic was named the league’s defensive player of the year along with being named a defensive all-star.
Chad Braun was a double winner, named the outstanding special teams player and the outstanding return specialist.
Hilltops linebacker Blake Adams was named the outstanding defensive lineman while head coach Tom Sargeant was named the coach of the year.

It caps off a week of award announcements for the PFC.
Four Hilltops were named offensive all-stars: Terry Thesen and Nathan Heide on the offensive line and receivers Evan Turkington and Evan Kopchynski. Turkington had 22 catches for 339 yards and two touchdowns while Kopchynski had 14 receptions for 349 yards and five touchdowns.
The Hilltops had five players named defensive all-stars for the regular season.
Blake Adams, Blake Hermann and Matt Kozun were named on the defensive line. It is the third-straight year Kozun has been named, while Adams was named for a second consecutive year.
Defensive back Derek Sadownick was also named for a second-consecutive year.
The Hilltops look to advance to the Canadian Bowl to defend their national championship when they take on the Calgary Colts in the PFC Final. Game time is 1 p.m. CT Sunday at SMF Field.
