REGINA – It’s been a slow start for the Saskatchewan Roughriders this season – it wasn’t until the Labour Day Classic on September 6th when the team secured its first win.
With only two wins in 15 games heading into this weekend’s home game, they’re officially out of the play-offs and on track to have their worst season ever.
This comes after quarterback Darian Durant ruptured his Achilles tendon, a season-ending injury, in June. Then the team announced they had fired both Head Coach Corey Chamblin and General Manager Brendan Taman.

Replacing them in the meantime is assistant GM Jeremy O’Dday and special teams coordinator Bob Dyce.
Just two years after one of the most glorious seasons in the franchise’s history, the Roughriders spent 2015 once again as the loveable losers. The only seasons worse were 1979 and 1980 when the Riders were 2-14 two years in a row and 1999 when they were 3-15.
On Focus Saskatchewn this weekend, our senior sports anchor Derek Meyers sits down with colour commentator for Rider Radio, Carm Carteri, who understands that difficult times are all part of an underdog’s charm.
