UPDATE – The highway has been re-opened to traffic.
NEAR ELKHART LODGE – A single vehicle crash that claimed a man’s life has temporarily closed the west bound lanes of the Okanagan Connector.
The man was the only person in a pickup truck that hit the roadside ditch at about 6:00 a.m. Thursday.
He is from the Chilliwack area and believed to be about 60-years-old.
RCMP and civilian witnesses tried to revive the man but he died at the scene.
West bound traffic is stalled about five kilometres east of the Elkhart interchange as there is no detour for in effect.
