WINNIPEG — A report of a suspicious package downtown Tuesday evening was not a threat. Roads are clear after police blocked off streets around Graham Avenue while investigating a suspicious package report.

Emergency crews were first called to the area near the Women’s Health Clinic before 6:30 Tuesday evening.

Dozens of emergency crews were on scene and a building had been evacuated.

Winnipeg police said the package turned out to be an alarm clock beeping in a box after an employee changing offices in the building mailed her belongings to a new office. Police tracked down the woman and determined it was safe.

Police cleared the scene around 8:00 p.m. No charges are being laid.
