KINGSTON, Ont. – Police in Kingston, Ont., say a stolen necklace containing the ashes of a woman’s father has been recovered and returned to her.
Investigators say someone smashed in a side window of the woman’s car late on Oct. 8 or early on Oct. 9 and took the pendant that contained the ashes of her recently deceased father.
Police say the man’s ashes had been placed in a tear-drop pendant attached to a silver necklace.
Police say a member of the public found the necklace last Friday a short distance from where the theft occurred.
Investigators retrieved the necklace and returned it to the woman on Monday.
