“The safety benefits of winter tires are well documented and this positive response confirms that many Manitoba vehicle owners have made road safety a priority,” Gord Mackintosh, the minister responsible for Manitoba Public Insurance said. “The purpose of this program is to allow Manitobans, who otherwise might not be financially able to do so, to equip their vehicles with winter tires.”

The program provides loans for winter tires to a maximum of $2,000 for up to 48 months at prime plus two per cent.
