Driver injured in semi-trailer rollover on Trans-Canada Highway near Calgary

CALGARY – One person was injured in a semi-trailer rollover west of Calgary on Friday.

It happened on the Trans-Canada Highway approximately 50 kilometers west of the city, near the Morley Road overpass, at around 5 a.m.

RCMP arrived to find a fully-loaded semi-trailer on its side in the centre median.

The driver was rushed to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Investigators don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the incident, but haven’t said if speed may have played a role.

The rollover has caused westbound Highway 1 to be reduced to just one lane.
