HALIFAX – Wednesday marks the second anniversary of the murder of Matthew Thomas Sudds.
On October 14, 2013, the body of the 24-year-old was located in a ditch along Africville Road in Halifax.
An autopsy confirmed that Sudds was the victim of a shooting and his death was ruled a homicide. The police investigation revealed that Sudds was last seen by friends on the afternoon of October 10, 2013.
Sudds was well known to police before his murder. He had prior drug convictions and was on the Halifax Regional Police’s “HEAT” list of most wanted people in 2012 for assault charges.
Police have said they do not think Sudds’ homicide was a random act and investigators continue to believe there are people who have information about the incident who have not come forward.
His case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program. The government is offering a reward in the amount of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the homicide of Matthew Sudds.
