Police appeal to hunters, others to find body of victim of serial killer

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – The RCMP are asking hunters and outdoor enthusiasts in northern B.C. to keep an eye out for the body of one of the victims of an accused serial killer.

Police are trying to find the remains of 23-year-old Natasha Montgomery, who is among four women Cody Legebokoff is charged with killing in the Vanderhoof and Prince George areas.

Three of the victims were found off gravel roads linked to a main highway and police are appealing for people heading into the woods as the weather warms up to report any remains they might find.

The RCMP say they’ve already conducted systematic searches and are looking to identify more places to search in areas between Prince George, Vanderhoof and Fort St. James.

In addition to the Montgomery murder, Legebokoff is accused of killing 15-year-old Loren Donn and Jill Stuchenko and Cynthia Maas, who were both 35.

Last week, Montgomery’s family held a healing ceremony for Natasha and appealed for the public’s help in finding her body.
