Calgarian discovers aerosol cans in insulation over gas line

A Calgary homeowner is worried about her safety after an incredible discovery.

She found aerosol cans stuffed between a wall, right next to a gas line.

Now she’s worried about what else is hidden in the walls of her new home.

Amber Mellet is finishing the basement of her new home.

While working on the stairwell, she found two aerosol cans stuffed into some spray foam insulation.

She says the work was done by the builder, Shane Homes, to insulate the gas line to her fireplace.

She can’t believe someone would put aerosol cans and flammable insulation over a gas line.

Global Calgary sent Shane homes president, Shane Wenzel a pictures of the incident, and he says he is astonished.

He says the spray foam procedure is approved by the City of Calgary and the plumbing contractor, and says he believes this is an isolated incident.
