DARTMOUTH, N.S. – A man is is recovering after being attacked with what he believed was pepper spray Friday night.

Steve Franks, 62, said he opened the door to a man before being sprayed in the face without warning.

“It’s very un-fun, it’s very painful, and you can’t see for a while. In my case, I was lucky he only got one eye or I’d have been helpless at the door because I would have been blind,” said Franks, who slammed the door on the suspect.
