TORONTO – Police have made a number of arrests and seizures related to the operation of illegal gaming houses and casinos in north Scarborough and are warning the public more of them exist.
Authorities said in a media release these establishments are targeting “communities predominantly occupied by Asian community members.”
An update on the investigation is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at 42 Division.
Police said search warrants executed on several addresses have led to the seizure of gaming accessories such as baccarat and mahjong tables, casino chips and machines, as well as various illegal drugs.
