Person in hospital after car hits TTC bus shelter, electrical pole

TORONTO – A person is in hospital with serious injuries after a car plowed into a TTC bus shelter and toppled an electrical pole in east-end Toronto.

The crash happened around midnight in the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Railside Road east of the Don Valley Parkway.

Emergency crews arrived on scene to find three people in the vehicle with minor injuries.

The victim in the bus shelter was rushed to hospital and remains in serious condition.

There’s no word yet on what caused the crash and the investigation is ongoing.

The age and identity of the victim has not been released.
