WINNIPEG — The Palomino Club is closing its doors, at least at its current location.

According to CJOB, the Winnipeg landmark at Portage Avenue and Minto will shutdown January 2nd to make room for a condo development, according to Managing Partner Cary Paul.

“We were approached by a developer,” Paul tells 680 CJOB. “I put the deal together…and we’re likely going to do a condo project there.”

Paul adds The Pal is not gone for good. He hopes to open a new location called ‘The Palomino Club & Pub’ further east on Portage across from MTS Centre. One location he is looking at is 323 Portage Ave – the former home of The 4-Play Sports bar.

He hopes to have the new two floor location up and running by early February.
