CALGARY – Charges were stayed Tuesday in the case of Miles Clark, who was accused of sexually abusing a young boy in a day-home his wife ran in Calgary’s Rocky Ridge neighbourhood.
Clark was 51 when he was arrested and charged in February. His case was supposed to go to a preliminary inquiry on Tuesday, but instead the prosecution filed a stay.

A stay happens when there is not a reasonable likelihood of the case ending with a conviction. The Crown has one year to re-open such a case.
The Calgary Police Service Child Abuse Unit arrested Clark on Feb. 5.
The assault was reported to police in January 2015, after a four-year-old boy told his parents he was fondled by a man at a northwest day-home in December 2014.
Clark was charged with sexual interference with a child under 16 years.
The Clark family lost their business in light of the charges. They have also left the community.
