Ottawa isn’t just the nation’s capital – it’s the cheating capital of Canada, according to a website catering to people looking for affairs.
AshleyMadison.com puts the national capital at the top of these rankings, based on the fact Ottawa has the highest number of members on this website per capita than anywhere else in the country.
Incidentally, MoneySense magazine, earlier this week, named Ottawa the best place in Canada to live, citing its “cultural offerings and family-friendly lifestyle.”
AshleyMadison.com CEO Noel Biderman said in a statement: “Ottawa is a city filled with people holding government jobs that are considered mundane and filled with red tape and bureaucracy. Adding this to their boring marriage or routine sex life may push them over the edge to seek excitement outside their relationship.”
A spokeswoman for AshleyMadison.com said Ottawa has 47,800 members out of the 1.2 million it has across the country.
Rounding out the top four spots in this list were Saskatoon at second, Calgary at third and Edmonton at fourth.
“We find our strong membership in the West in keeping with the trend of people with conservative values participating in what is considered ‘deviant’ societal behaviour,” Biderman added.
