Breakfast Buzz: Banning the ‘man-bun’

A university in Idaho has banned the man-bun. Should schools in Saskatchewan follow suit?.

SASKATOON – Love it or hate it, all around the world you are sure to find men sporting a top-knot. The ‘man-bun’ trend is both popular, and met with its own share of critics. Now a university in Idaho has banned the man-bun.

According to their campus paper at Brigham Young University in Idaho, the top-knot goes against the school’s Honor Code. The Honor Office will take disciplinary action against students sporting the man-bun, with school officials saying the man-bun is considered to be an extreme hairstyle that does not fit within their grooming standards.

Lately men who tie back their hair have been getting a lot of flack; with research showing the top knot can cause baldness as well as numerous online polls where people say they hate the trend.
