WINNIPEG – Manitoba drivers will most likely not see rebate cheques in the mail anytime soon.

The president and CEO of Manitoba Public Insurance says he doesn’t foresee drivers receiving  any rebates within the next year.

MPI wants to boost its finances to a point where it can absorb unexpected costs without the need to hike premiums.

The company posted a loss of nearly 45 million dollars in the 2013 fiscal year.  MPI posted a profit of more than 37 million dollars in the 2014 fiscal year.
