Drogba’s brace against D.C. earns him MLS player of the week honours

NEW YORK – Montreal Impact striker Didier Drogba has been named Major League Soccer‘s player of the week.

Drogba scored both goals in Montreal’s 2-0 win over D.C. United on Saturday as the Impact increased their club-record unbeaten streak to six games (four wins, two draws).

The former Ivorian international has seven goals and one assist in six games, including five starts, since joining Montreal.

This is Drogba’s second player of the week title in September.
