EDMONTON – Derel Walker continues to surprise many with his outstanding play during his rookie CFL season.

Walker was named CFL Player of the Week for his performance in Edmonton’s 29-23 victory over the BC Lions last Sunday in which he made eight catches for 121 yards.

His day included a 43-yard reception from Mike Reilly on the opening drive and a 21-yard touchdown catch with two minutes left in the game to give the Esks a 24-23 lead.

In seven games, Walker has 679 receiving yards, which puts him ninth in the league.

The 24-year-old was named a CFL Player of the Week for Week 10 and Player of the Month for August.
