HALIFAX – Thousands of eyes all across Canada looked to the sky on Sunday night to see the Super Blood Moon Eclipse, including the eye of some of Global Halifax’s cameras.
Some of the night owls in the Halifax newsroom stayed up to get a glimpse of the rare display of a blood moon paired with a super moon, paired with a lunar eclipse.

Because of how close the moon was to the Earth, it was brighter and appeared much larger to people watching from the street.
The next total eclipse of the moon won’t happen until 2018, and the next total eclipse of a super moon won’t be until 2033.
