Airdrie murder-suicide suspect may have been bipolar

We’re learning some disturbing new details about Rick Doucette’s final days.

The Airdrie man is the only suspect in last month’s murder-suicide in the city north of Calgary.

Court documents obtained by Global News suggest Doucette tried to commit suicide several times after he allegedly killed Andrea Conroy.

He met a friend at an Airdrie Walmart shortly after the murder, saying he ‘messed up his life’ but would ‘die before going to jail’.

He said he hadn’t eaten or slept in days.

The documents also suggest Doucette may have been bipolar and wasn’t taking his medication.

The body builder was also possibly on steroids at the time.
