LONDON, Ont. – Police say a 56-year-old man is facing numerous charges in an incident that allegedly involved a stolen car and a number of assaults.
Investigators say the incident began Saturday afternoon when a man reported that his vehicle had been stolen.
Officers say the car was driven to two other locations where a total of four people were allegedly assaulted.
Police say the car was then driven into the front doors of the Western Fair casino in London and the driver allegedly assaulted a security guard and a police officer.
All of the injuries were reported to be minor and did not require medical attention.
Christopher Smedley of London is charged with five counts of assault – including one of assaulting a police officer – two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and one count of theft of a motor vehicle.
