Woman pulled from Red River dies

WINNIPEG – A woman pulled from the river near the Louise Bridge on Friday has succumbed to her injuries.

Emergency crews were called to the area around 8:15 Friday morning after reports of a body in the river were called in.

Police said the adult female was transported to hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

Family and friends of Thelma Krull tell Global News police confirmed it was not the body of the missing 57-year-old grandmother.

“It was an intense day waiting to hear identification,” said Connie Muscat.

Police have identified the woman and her family has been notified.

The cause of death has not yet been determined and an autopsy is pending.
