FREDERICTON – The New Brunswick government is launching a new cyber safety website aimed at preventing internet child exploitation.
The website is meant to warn of the threats that can be found online, including how to prevent internet child exploitation.

The launch comes after a large-scale investigation involving child exploitation and online child pornography, dubbed ‘Project Hydra,’ earlier this year.
In May, police in New Brunswick and Ontario made 41 arrests in 17 countries related to child luring and sexual exploitation that occurred online, including a man from Moncton.

The Department of Public Safety is working on a Internet Child Exploitation Strategic Framework. Meetings were held this week in Moncton and Bathurst regarding the framework.
