HALIFAX – A member of the a well-known comedy troupe is missing in Halifax and his castmates and friend have taken to social media in hopes of finding him.
Picnicface‘s Brian Macquarrie hasn’t been seen since Monday. But while his friends continue to search for him, Macquarrie appears to be asking for privacy.
A Facebook group called “Help us find Brian Macquarrie” was set up Thursday night and members of the group have been using their personal Twitter accounts to spread the word.

Macquarrie was last seen in the area of Cole Harbour. He was believed to be wearing a blue hoodie with a Superman emblem, a yellow ball cap, sunglasses and a dark leather jacket.
A picture posted to the Facebook group was taken in January, but the page’s administrators say Macquarrie may be more “heavily bearded and will have lost a bit of weight since it was taken.”
Later Friday morning a post from Macquarrie’s personal Facebook account appeared on the ‘Help us find Brian Macquarrie’ group’s wall saying he is “not missing.” The message reads as follows:
“Hey everyone, call off the watch dogs. I’m not “missing”. I am taking some time for myself. It has been a pretty busy year mixed with stress and new ventures. I would appreciate it if people would continue to respect my privacy and shut down the “Brian is Missing” page. thanks.”
Halifax Regional Police spokesperson Kathryn Willett says the situation is being “actively investigated.”
Friends are still urging anyone with information to contact Halifax police on their non-emergency line (902) 490-5020.
