Aeroports de Montreal says 2011 revenue was $427 million, up 10%

MONTREAL – The local authority that manages Montreal’s Mirabel and Trudeau airports says its revenue last year was up 9.7 per cent, due to higher passenger traffic and higher fees for aeronautical services, parking and airport improvements.

Aeroports de Montreal says its revenue last year rose to $427 million from $389.9 million in 2010. It set a new traffic record in 2011, with a total of 13.7 million passengers going through Montreal-Trudeau airport.

Its profit improved to $184 million – before income taxes, interest payments, depreciation and a gain on financial assets – from $164 million in 2010.

ADM said amount of tax paid to the municipal government totalled $40.3 million, up $2.4 million or 6.3 per cent from 2010.

Meanwhile, rent paid to the federal government – which retains ownership of the airport properties managed by local authorities – increased 17.6 per cent to $43.4 million from $36.9 million in 2010.
