PENTICTON – A woman is grateful to have her leg back after it was stolen in Penticton.
The artificial limb was found Sunday afternoon on Lakeshore Drive and turned over to police.
The Mounties were later advised by city bylaw officers that they knew who the owner is.
She was found in a tent near City Hall, with the matching running shoe, and the prosthetic limb was returned to her.
The woman told police she had gone for swim Saturday evening and upon returning to the beach her leg was gone.
RCMP spokesperson, Cpl. Don Wigglesworth, received 14 tips on who the owner might be, saying there are apparently four people in Penticton who are missing their legs.
