Man found dead beside Alaska Highway in Taylor

A man has been found dead beside the Alaska Highway in Taylor and a woman is now in custody.

On Sept. 6 at 11:40 p.m., the Fort St. John RCMP pulled over a white pick-up truck in Taylor during a traffic stop. There was one woman in the vehicle, but further investigation lead to the discovery of the vehicle’s registered owner, Kirk Morin, on the side of the road between Cherry Avenue and the Alaska Highway. The 51-year-old was dead when police arrived.

Police are now asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious on Sept. 6, specifically around the arena and the community centre in Taylor, to contact them. They are looking to speak to anyone who saw a white Dodge pick-up truck in Taylor with dual wheels on the rear axle, and anyone they have previously spoken to about this incident.

The Fort St. John General Investigation Section, Forensic Identification Section, General Duty members and Prince George Major Crime Unit are all actively investigating this death.
