WATCH: Funky cop gets ‘Footloose’ at Manchester Pride Parade

On a day filled with colorful performances and big names such as Gandalf himself, Sir Ian McKellen – it was a funky Manchester cop who stole the show.

Inspector Jacqui Prest, from Greater Manchester Police’s Oldham division was caught on camera kicking off her Sunday shoes and cutting Footloose to Kenny Loggins’ classic 80’s tune.

The video has become a viral hit since it was posted on Tuesday, amassing over 200,000 views on Facebook and tens of thousands of shares.

“Footloose does that to me every time,” Inspector Prest told the Daily Mail in the UK. “My feet just started tapping, and it went from there.”

The 44-year-old mother of two has worked the Manchester Pride Parade for the past six years, some two years after she came out as gay to her superiors at the Greater Manchester Police.

“For me getting involved is about letting the LGBT community and any other possible victims of hate crime know the police are inclusive, we understand and we are there for them,” Prest said.

The GMP also appears to be inclusive about dancing on the job, as Prest’s infectious moves quickly rub off on her colleagues, who join her in busting a move in an adorable combination of Monty Python-meets-Kevin Bacon.

“I just love Pride. People clap and cheer and…you have put a smile on their faces. It is fantastic. The atmosphere is electric,” Prest said.
