Erin Selby runs in federal election for NDP

WINNIPEG — Erin Selby threw her name in the federal race Friday morning.  Selby, is running as the  NDP candidate for St. Boniface-St.Vital.

The Southdale MLA put her name forward in the Oct. 19 race, with the announcement Friday just after 8 a.m. at Glenwood Community Centre.

Selby was one of five ministers who resigned from their cabinet positions last fall saying they could no longer work with Premier Greg Selinger.

The former health minister confirmed last month that she was considering taking a run in St. Boniface-St. Vital, where there is no incumbent.

Conservative Shelly Glover is not seeking re-election. Francois Catellier is running as the Conservative candidate.

Former city councilor Dan Vandal is running for the Liberals.
