LETHBRIDGE – Staff at the YWCA of Lethbridge and District are mourning the loss of a former coworker.
38-year old Nadine Skow was found dead in her Edmonton apartment at around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say Skow was discovered by coworkers after she failed to show up for work for several days.
In a statement released to media on Thursday, Kristine Cassie, CEO of the YWCA of Lethbridge and District, said the loss is having a profound effect.

“There are few words to convey our immense sadness at the murder of Nadine Skow in Edmonton this week. Her joy was in the service of others – she was kind, gentle and fun loving.”
Cassie went on to say colleagues and youth who knew and worked with Skow are overwhelmed, trying to understand how she could be taken away from the world with such rage.
“Yet, we know all too well, that domestic violence knows no limits – it is unjust – it is cruel – it is senseless.”
Edmonton police have charged 38-year-old Silva Koshwal with second-degree murder and indignity to a human body. Investigators say Skow and Koshwal were involved in a common law relationship that ended about a year ago.
A memorial balloon release to remember and honour Nadine will be held at the YWCA Serenity Garden on Friday, August 29th at 12:15 p.m.
