REGINA – SaskPower will be installing wildlife protection on power poles in south Regina hoping to reduce the number of unplanned power outages in the area.

SaskPower will begin installation in the coming weeks, and these power outages should be relatively short, with about 15-30 homes losing power for 1-2 hours at a time.

The work will begin Wednesday morning, with outages scheduled for certain blocks of Elphinstone, Montague and Athol Streets. Garnet, Cameron and Angus Streets plus Leopold Crescent will be done in the afternoon.

This project is part of the $33 million SaskPower has planned to spend on maintenance and system upgrades in Regina.
