Firefighters extinguish blaze at Saskatoon bike shop

SASKATOON – Saskatoon fire crews extinguished a blaze at a bike shop Friday. At 8:15 p.m., a police officer noticed heavy smoke coming from 623 Main St. and informed dispatch.

Upon arrival, fire crews found smoke at the Bike Doctor and flame coming from the rear of the building. Firefighters initiated an interior fire attack and had the blaze under control in 20 minutes.

The building was searched for occupants and no injuries were reported.

An investigator attended the scene and determined the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.
