Calgary’s northbound Deerfoot Trail reopens after motorcycle crash

CALGARY – Police closed a portion of northbound Deerfoot Trail due to a collision Friday afternoon. Just before 2 p.m., police were in the process of reopening the northbound lanes.

EMS said one person was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition. Police said the victim was a motorcyclist believed to be in his 50s who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The single-vehicle crash happened at about 12:30 p.m., one hour after a multi-vehicle collision caused massive slowdowns on southbound Deerfoot Trail.

Delays were still expected in the area just after 2 p.m.
