SASKATOON – It’s a unique way to raise money. Now in its sixth year, the Nest Secret Garden Tour takes place this Sunday in Saskatoon with eight inspiring gardens.

“You not only get an opportunity to view eight lovely gardens,” said spokesperson Maureen McPherson, “you support the settlement of refugee families in the city.”

All money raised goes toward Nest Saskatoon, a refugee support group that helps refugee women and their families start a new life.

Since forming in 1997, the group has sponsored refugee families from Sudan, Afghanistan, Burundi, the Congo, Columbia, Iraq and Liberia.

McPherson said the tour has sold out in four of the last five years and garden tour passports must be purchased in advance at Blossoms on 8th Street, Dutch Growers and Anthology on 20th Street. Garden passports cost $15.00.

The tour will proceed rain or shine.
