TORONTO – A signal problem caused by a CN computer failure resulted in GO train cancellation and delays affecting thousands of commuters Friday morning.
The delays continued during the rush hour commute on several routes including Lakeshore West, Lakeshore East, Stouffville, and Richmond Hill.
As a result, a handful of morning trips were cancelled and many were behind schedule, some for as long as 30 minutes to an hour.
However by 8 a.m., GO Transit says the signals are “slowly being restored.”
Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins said they placed in use the TTC protocol which allows riders to use their fare to ride the TTC for free.
The signal issues were fixed around 9 a.m. with residual delays.
