SASKATOON – A young offender from Kilburn Hall has died in Saskatoon. Drew Wilby with Saskatchewan Justice says the boy died in hospital last Wednesday.

Wilby says foul play is not suspected, and both a police and internal investigation are underway to determine the causes of the incident and if policies were followed.

A coroner is expected to start an inquest into the situation as well.

Wilby says they will not be releasing the cause of death at this time.

This is the first fatality at Saskatoon’s Kilburn Hall, and the second youth death in Saskatchewan in two years, the other at the Prince Albert Youth Residence.
