Summary: A new riding in a quickly growing part of Metro Vancouver, Cloverdale-Langley Cjty is in an area that has traditionally elected Conservative MPs.

Boundaries: The riding includes both the City of Langley and the Cloverdale neighbourhod of Surrey north of Highway 10.

Last Election: This is a new seat, but had this riding existed in the last election, the Conservatives would have taken it by 31 per cent more votes than the NDP (based on polling results).

History: The Cloverdale-Langley area has exclusively elected right-wing candidates for over 40 years.

Demographics: Just 10,920 people in the 2011 census were seniors, the lowest number in British Columbia. A very suburban riding, the median income of $34,719 is fourth highest in the province.

Conservative: Dean Drysdale, a local businessman and member of Brian Mulroney’s PMO

NDP: Rebecca Smith, owner of a local consulting company
