Massive gun seizure at border crossing

The Canadian Border Services Agency says a weapons bust at the Coutts border crossing this week is the largest handgun seizure in the history of the port.

The CBSA says they found a hefty cache of firearms and weapons in the vehicle of a Florida resident travelling to Alaska, who stopped at the Alberta/Montana border crossing on Tuesday.

Officers seized 75 firearms including 48 handguns – four of which were loaded, one blowgun, one pistol crossbow and 12 high capacity magazines.

54-year-old George Foster has been arrested and faces ten charges. Police say additional charges may be pending.

Foster will appear in Lethbridge provincial court on Thursday,
