CALGARY – Two women relaxing at a southeast park Sunday told police their quiet afternoon turned into a frightening experience.
They were at a Dover park in the 3400 block of 31 Avenue Southeast shortly after 1:30 p.m. when they say a man approached them. Police say he stopped, about 15 metres away, before unzipping his pants and beginning to masturbate.
The women say they yelled at him to get away, at which point they called 911.
Police said the suspect fled northbound through an alley.
Witnesses described the suspect as 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5’9” or taller, with a medium build and greyish hair.
At the time of the incident, the alleged suspect was wearing a white baseball cap, a red T-shirt, and baggy light blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Calgary Police Service, 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers.
