Six injured after truck crashes into camper parked in Swift Current

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. – Alcohol is consider a factor in a crash that sent six people, including four children, to a Swift Current, Sask. hospital Friday morning. Mounties say the crash happened just after 2:30 a.m. in the 1800-block of 22nd Avenue NE.

According to police, a 2012 Ford pickup truck travelling west on Saskatchewan Drive crossed the intersection of Highway 4, drove over a median and entered the parking lot of a business.

The truck then crashed into a camper.

Six people were sleeping inside the camper at the time, two adults and four children ranging in age from three to 10. They were taken to hospital where they were treated for their injuries and released.

Police say road conditions and weather were good at the time.

Charges have not yet been laid. Police continue to investigate.
